Do's and Don'ts of ATM Transactions
Do's
- Conduct ATM transactions in complete privacy and never let anyone see your PIN.
- Ensure the welcome screen is displayed after completing the transaction.
- Keep your registered mobile number updated for transaction alerts.
- Look for suspicious people or devices attached to the ATM.
- Report a lost or stolen card and unauthorised transactions immediately.
- Check transaction SMS alerts and bank statements regularly.
- If cash is not dispensed, check the debit SMS and report the transaction to the bank.
- Block a lost card through Mobile Banking or call 020-24280050 / 24282005.
Don'ts
- Do not write the PIN on the card.
- Do not take help from strangers or hand over your card.
- Do not disclose the PIN, including to bank employees or family members.
- Do not allow the card to go out of sight during payment.
- Avoid speaking on a mobile phone while transacting.
Do's and Don'ts of UPI Transactions
Do's
- Be alert to fraudulent calls asking you to install third-party applications or share confidential information.
- Uninstall remote-access applications when no longer required.
- Enable app-lock on payment and mobile-banking applications.
- Report suspicious activity only through the nearest branch or authorised customer-care number.
- Validate the transaction type. No PIN is required for receiving money.
- Use trusted UPI applications and keep your details updated with the bank.
- Alert the bank immediately about unusual transactions.
Don'ts
- Never share UPI PIN, CVV or OTP by call, SMS or email, even with someone claiming to be from the bank.
- Never store banking passwords in the handset.
- Do not accept money requests from unknown senders.
- Do not forward unsolicited SMS messages at somebody's request.
- Never grant permissions to unknown applications.
- Never open untrusted SMS or email links redirecting to UPI payment.
